Description
Students in ENG 223 study a variety of literary works from the world�s cultures.
Attention is given to aesthetics, to cultural and historical contexts, including theeffects of translation, inscription, and dissemination in the creation and meaningsof texts. Study may include comparison of literary texts with other forms of
cultural expression. Students learn to examine texts in their cultural, historical,social and political contexts. Assignments encourage students to develop critical
and creative thinking, analytical, communication, vocabulary, and research skills.
