Description

Students in ENG 223 study a variety of literary works from the world�s cultures. Attention is given to aesthetics, to cultural and historical contexts, including theeffects of translation, inscription, and dissemination in the creation of meanings of texts. Study may include comparison of literary texts with other forms of cultural expression. Students learn to examine texts in their cultural, historical, social, and political contexts. Assignments encourage students to develop critical and creative thinking, analytical communications, vocabulary, and research skills.
