Description

This course helps students develop English skills needed for college writing- and reading- intensive courses. It provides students with instruction in reading conceptsthrough analysis, critical thinking, and problem solving and offers intensive practice in writing techniques through sentence, paragraph, and essay structure while integrating cohesion and organization into the composing process. Additionally, students work on grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary while incorporating information from assigned readings as part of writing assignments and class discussion. To pass, students are required to make a grade of 'C' or better. The course does not count for degree credit
